AMERICUS —
I am writing today concerning everybody in this great country of ours. We live in a mixed up society. No one seems to care about themselves or anyone else. Our lawmakers make laws just to satisfy themselves; then our officers get blamed. Each group thinks laws should be for other people; they forget that we are all one nation under God. I wish everyone would get their Bibles down (if you don’t have one, you need one badly) and read it. Read the book of Exodus, to begin with, and compare the things that happened in Moses’ time to what is happening in the U.S. now. I know some people say we were not created by God, that we evolved from animals or fish. If not, who was the creator of animals or fish? Have you ever witnessed the birth of a child, or just thought about an egg hatching, or even planting a seed in the ground? Either of these are miracles that could only be the work of God.
As I said, it seems everybody has their wires crossed. Our tobacco companies have been sued, trying to put them out of business because of health reasons. Now they want to legalize marijuana. Does this make any sense? You can’t smoke in public places, but you can be served alcohol almost anywhere. There are far more people killed by drunk drivers, drunk mothers or fathers or many alcoholic related accidents than by cigarette smokers. Our lawmakers just like to make new laws. I can’t understand the logic behind any of this. A person can be arrested for an empty beer can, but a person can be so full of drugs they are sent on down the road to kill someone; tell me the fairness of this. Our law officers make an arrest and they are tried before the guilty party. Tell me the logic in this.
Our forefathers came here with only their faith in God and their bare hands. Look what they built; now God has been forsaken and no one wants to get their hands dirty. Look where we are headed.
Let’s all pray every day for our country to get back to what our forefathers dreamed of and thank God for what we have.
May God bless us and keep us.
