AMERICUS — Writing letter for Badge

My name is Matt Ledger. I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 26 in Americus, Georgia. I'm working on the Communications Merit Badge, and one of the requirements for the badge is to write the editor of  my local magazine. I decided to inform you of a trip the scouts are going on this summer. Many members of Troop 26 and Troop 21 of Americus, as well as the troop from Ellaville, are linking up into a Jamboree troop and headed to the 2012 National Scout Jamboree. The site for the jamboree is a new site called The Summit, located in West Virginia. At the Jaboree, we will be able to participate in many different events, including BMX events, obstacle courses, SCUBA diving, rock climbing, zip-lining, and much, much more.

We'll also have the opportunity to meet new scouts from all over  the country. We are looking forward to the trip. We have already had one "shakedown" in preparation for the jambo. I expect to have a blast on this trip of a lifetime.

This trip is one of many opportunities for Scouts to get out and enjoy God's green earth. Thank you for your time, and thank you for doing an excellent job of providing the city of Americus with a fantastic newspaper.

Sincerely,

Matt Ledger

Americus
