GSW's Heath Lock playing in SCBL
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Georgia Southwestern junior Heath Lock is honing his baseball skills this summer with the Morganton Aggies out of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
The Aggies, based in Morganton, N.C., have started the season 3-1 and they played the Tennessee Tornado on Saturday.
The SCBL is made up of nine teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and east Tennessee. The SCBL regular season concludes July 21 before the teams compete in the League Championship Tournament.
The SCBL was established in 1999 and is open to players from four-year institutions in the NCAA and NAIA as well as junior and community colleges. It is affiliated with the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball.
Lock appeared in 10 games for GSW in the infield this season, starting eight.
