MOULTRIE — The Americus Raiders 12-and-under baseball team started off the first round of the GRPA district tournament in Moultrie with a sudden death, 7-5 win over Colquitt County on Monday.
The Raiders played Tift County Tuesday night in the second round.
Will Graddick went the distance on the mound striking out 12 batters while walking one.
Trailing 4-3, the Raiders tied the game in the sixth after Bailey Goodin stole third and home on consecutive wild pitches.
After a 30-minute lightning delay, play resumed with extra innings, sending the last out from the previous inning to second base.
After a Ridge Roland single, Taylor Weldon followed with a double to right center to score two runs. Goodin recorded his second of the game to score Weldon for a 7-4 lead, and Colquitt was held to one run in the bottom half of the inning to end the game.
Goodin led the way with three hits.
