Panthers selling sheets to raise money
AMERICUS —
The Americus-Sumter football team is selling bed sheets to raise money for equipment among other things.
Coach Michael Pollock said each player is to sell one case, which includes 12 sets. A set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet and four pillow cases. The price is $40.
“It’s a micro-fiber bed sheet that has the feel of a 1,200-thread count sheet,” he said.
The fundraiser will go through July. Sets can be bought from any football player or coach. Pollock said he prefers the bought sets come from a football player because after they sell one case, money raised from the second set will go toward a new set of shoulder pads.
“The second case will go to pay for a brand new NFL-caliber shoulder pad; it will be the same kind of shoulder pad the NFL players wear,” he said.
