MIAMI — Former Macon County and Michigan State standout Ervin Baldwin will take part in Super Bowl XLIV today as part of the Indianapolis Colts.
Baldwin was selected in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, but was waived on Oct. 20, 2009. The Colts signed him to the practice squad on Nov. 11 and appeared in three games as a defensive end reserve and on special teams.
He has 13 tackles on the season.
The Colts play the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl as quarterback Peyton Manning looks to win his second since 2007. Manning's counterpart, Drew Brees, hopes to bring the Saints their-first ever Super Bowl trophy.
