AMERICUS — It is time once again to "spring forward" as Daylight Savings Time will begin during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 11. Fire departments encourage you to go to the extra effort this year and change the batteries in your smoke detectors too as you move your clocks ahead one hour. The official time to roll your clocks ahead one hour is 2 a.m.

Booker’s individual title leads Lady Wildcats to 2013 State Championship
After winning eight of their nine matches this season and dominating the Area 1 Public meet by 53 strokes over their closest opponent, the Schley County Lady Wildcats golf team achieved their ultimate goal on Monday by winning the GHSA Class A Public State Championship at Highland Walk Golf Course in Royston, Ga.
