Stage Production: The Sumter Players Inc. and GSW/Dramatics Arts production of “Twelve Angry Men” takes the stage of the Rylander Theatre at 2:30 p.m. today. Tickets for reserved seating at all performances are available at the Rylander box office, 310 W. Lamar St.(telephone 931-0001 or (toll free) 1 877 662-2312). Tickets can also be purchased online 24/7 at rylander.org and sumterplayer.org. Major credit/debit cards are accepted. Students in eighth through 12th grades will be admitted free of charge to any performance.

Change in Hours: There are changes in tthe walk-in clinical walk-in service hours at the Sumter County Health Department. Registration is from 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday.
Lions Club: The Americus Lions Club meets at noon Tuesday at Ryan's Family Steak House with guest speaker, past District Governor Chris Sumner of Blakely, who will show a video on the Lions Club International Foundation, which is matching a $75,000 grant to the rebuilding of Phoebe/Sumter Hospital.
Furlough Day: The Sumter County Department of Family and Children Services will be closed Wednesday for a statewide mandatory furlough day. DFCS will also be closed Nov. 26-27 in observance of Thanksiving and reopens at 8 a.m. Nov. 30.

Interactive Workshop: Ribbons, Roses & Wraps, an interactive workshop, is at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Sumter County Agricultural Center, 331 U.S. Highway 19 South. Cost is $20 person; registration deadline is Nov. 30. Call 924-4476. Instructor is Cat Young. Proceeds benefut Sumter County 4-H.
Insurance Help: An investigator from the Office of the State Insurance Commissioner is scheduled to be in Americus from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Courthouse. Christmas Parade: Ring in the holiday season with a charming down home parade and welcome Santa to Americus Dec. 3.
Movie at the Market: Enjoy a great family outdoor event at the Dec. 5 Movie at the Market located at Lenny’s Market on Hampton Street. Admission is free. Concessions available for purchase. Bring is your friends, family and a chair. Movie starts at 8 p.m.
Hospital Authority: The Americus and Sumter County Hospital Authority holds a called meeting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the conference room in the community room at Sumter Bank & Trust, 201 E. Lamar St. The meeting is open to the public.
Greenspace Anniversary: The second celebration of the anniversary of the GSW Walking Trail is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 9, sponsored by the Sumter County Unit, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The public is invited.

Wreaths Across America: Andersonville National Cemetery hosts the annual ceremony at 11 a.m. Dec.12. All wreaths must be delivered to the site by noon Dec. 11. If you or your organization would like to volunteer to assist with the laying of these wreaths, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Lindsey Phillips, Andersonville National Historic Site at 924-0343 no later than Dec. 1. If you, your family, organization or business is interested in sponsoring a 20-inch Frasier Fir wreath with a red velveteen bow, contact your local florist to make arrangements.

Atlanta Branch is selling fresh fruit: Navel oranges 20 lbs./$18, 40 lbs./$32; red grapefruit 20 lbs./$18, 40 lbs./$32; juice oranges 20 lbs./$18, 40 lbs./$32; tangelos 20 lbs./$18, 40lbs./$32; red and golden Granny Smith apples 20 lbs./$25, 40 lbs./$40. Georgia REACH provides information on Alzheimer’s and related dementias, teaches how to manage troubling behaviors and provides tools to manage stress. Girls Rock: 4-E Learning & Prevention Center Inc., 802 Ashby St., sponsors Girls R.O.C.K. (Respecting Ourselves with Charisma & Klass) from 4-6 p.m. every Friday for girls ages 8-16. Safety Signs: The Sumter County Extension Office, 331 U.S. Highway 19 South, offers a safety address sign to residents and property owners. The blue sign is made of 12” by 6” engineering grade sign material with 4” No. M reflective numbers and/or letters. It is attached to a 36” metal post. The sign is highly visible at night and easily spotted during the day time. Signs are $18 and a portion of the proceeds go to the local 4-H Club youth program. Volunteers Needed: Several residents at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center enjoy getting out of the facility whenever possible. Volunteers are needed to assist residents with their weekly menus. Volunteers would be needed Thursday or Fridays to help residents mark and read the food items they would have as their meals.
