Three Americus-Sumter wrestlers qualify for state tournament

ATLANTA – Three Americus-Sumter wrestlers: Montrellis Wilson (145 lb. weight class), A.J. Stokes (152 lb. weight class) and Henry Wilson Jr. (182 ib. weight class) qualified for the GHSA Class 4A State Tournament. They qualified by virtue of their performance at the Class 4A Sectionals held at Woodward Academy Friday and Saturday, February 2-3. The state tournament will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 8-10, in Macon.
Montrellis Wilson finished in fifth place in the 145-lb. weight class. Henry Wilson Jr. finished in fifth place in the 182-lb. weight class, and A.J. Stokes finished in seventh place in the 152-lb. weight class.
ASH will have two alternates for state: Jarvis Berry and Frank Lewis. Berry finished in ninth place in the 132-lb. weight class and Frank Lewis finished in ninth place in the 195-lb. weight class.
