ELLAVILLE – On Saturday, January 25, the Schley County Middle School Girls’ Basketball Team (SCMS) took to the hardwood floor of the Schley County High School gymnasium and defeated the Marion County Middle School Eagles 36-22 to earn the Region 4-A Championship.
The Lady Wildcats finished the season with a perfect and unblemished record of 20-0. This team was the first SCMS girls’ team in school history to go undefeated and win the Region 4-A Championship.
Emma Walker led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points and Jess Scott had eight points. Lily Walker scored six points and Jakayla Walker poured in five. Daneria Thornton and Jasmine Dupree rounded out the SCMS scoring with four and two points respectively.
