Alton Ford to speak at SGTC Black History Program

South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Board of Directors member Alton Ford of Butler will be the guest speaker at the SGTC Black History Program in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus on Thursday, February 27, at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
Ford, who recently retired from Flint Energies, was named to the SGTC Board of Directors in October of 2024. He participated in the certified board member training with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Technical College Director’s Association (TCDA) to attain certified board member status.
Ford served as the Supervisor of Member Solutions at Flint Electric Membership Corporation in Reynolds prior to his retirement. He had worked with Flint Electric since 1985. He held a number of positions including Building Maintenance, Print Production Manager, Manager of Flint Appliance Store, and had been with Member Solutions since 1995. He became the Supervisor of Member Solutions in 2020.
At Flint Energies, he underwent supervisor training in resolution of critical issues with a time-sensitive environment and had a successful track record of building and maintaining talented teams. He is a highly organized, energetic and versatile leader committed to continuous improvements with a proven history of motivating staff to work together to achieve targets.
Ford also serves on the SGTC Adult Education Advisory Committee.
