Americus Police Department

On February 17, 2025 at 03:45 hours, officers of the Americus Police Department were dispatched to the Circle K convenience store located at 1101 Crawford Street in
Americus. Store personnel stated that a black male wearing a red jacket and a ski mask came into the store and pointed a black handgun at her. The suspect took an undetermined amount of money from the register and left the store. Americus Police Investigators have identified the suspect as Cleveland Wilborn, age 48, of Americus.

Welborn was taken into custody this afternoon at approximately 14:40 hours in the area of E Lamar Street and Cherokee Street.
