The Sumter County Board of Education met February 13. Superintendent Walter Knighton gave the superintendent’s report. SPLOST collections for January were $541,735.93, the Georgia Power Bill was $30,882.59, the Sumter EMC Bill was $43,400.43, water, sewer and sanitation was $13,663.52, The City of Americus energy bill was $5,080.50, the cell phone bill was $1,611.15, and the millage rate is 18.057, with one mill generating approximately $755,796. The annual budget is approximately $54,323,288.
