Schley County wins over Crisp County

Schley County Middle School Baseball is victorious in their 1st game of the season over Crisp County 10-7.

Schley County Middle got on the board in the first inning after a steal of home by Gage Norman scored one run.

A triple by Gage Norman extended the Schley County Middle lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning.

A passed ball extended the Schley County Middle lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Crisp County Middle took a 7-6 lead.

Schley County Middle captured the lead, 10-7, in the top of the seventh when Asher Bishop doubled, scoring two runs, Brenton Blevins singled, scoring one run, and Gabe Renfroe singled, scoring one run.

Clay Hicks stepped on the mound first for Schley County Middle. Hicks gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking three. Christian Blanchard appeared in relief for Schley County Middle.

Schley County Middle amassed 14 hits in the game. Bishop drove the middle of the lineup, leading Schley County Middle with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Easton Stuckey, Schley County Middle’s number eight hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Hicks, Norman, Cameron Player, and Blevins each collected multiple hits for Schley County Middle. Player stole three bases. Schley County Middle ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game.
