Jeffrey Summers was a pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church for eight years before becoming a Pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in Port Orange, Fla, according to Baptist News Global. It was there he was arrested as part of Operation Full Throttle for attempting to solicit a child.

The arrest report from the Port Orange Florida Police Department reads as follows: “The defendant knowingly used a computer, the internet, or a cell phone to solicit a child whom the defendant believed to be a 14-year-old/ male with the intent to engage in some form of unlawful sexual activity with that child.”

Summers has two felony charges, one for using a computer to solicit a child, and the other for traveling in an attempt to meet a child afterwards. The latter occurred on March 7, after which he was taken into custody. The police report listed Horizon Elementary as his employer.
