Miss SAR crowned at Southland Academy

Southland Academy continued a thirty-six-year tradition as the school crowned a new Miss SAR on Saturday, April 22, 2025. Emcees for the evening were Miss SAR 1998, Jill Tatum Coogle and Miss SAR 2024, Riley FitzGerald. Freshman, Miller Anne Pryor, won the interview award, and was crowned Miss SAR 2025. Miller Anne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pryor of Americus. Cadence Dockery, a junior, was named first runner-up, winner of evening gown and people’s choice. Cadence is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Dockery of Smithville. Emma Anderson, freshman, was named second runner up. Emma is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Anderson of Americus. The Miss Congeniality award winner was Senior, Ellie Dickens daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Dickens of Americus.

Miller Anne was crowned by Riley FitzGerald, Miss SAR 2024. On Friday, March 21st a tradition was brought back to the Southland stage of crowning a Tiny, Young and Little Miss Southland. Emcees for the evening were 2023 Miss SAR Annslee Rooks and 2024 Miss SAR Riley FitzGerald. Twenty-eight girls in grades 5K-5th competed for the titles. Winning the crown and title for Tiny Miss Southland was Harleigh Law, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Law of Americus. Carlee Watson captured the title of Little Miss Southland. Carlee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chip Watson of Plains. Crowned the Young Miss Southland is Charlotte Arnold. Charlotte is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Arnold of Americus.
