Ethereal Gaming, owned by Dillan Tunney, opened at 130 Cotton Avenue on March 21. The tabletop gaming shop carries a wide assortment of gaming products. Various books detail the lore of different gaming worlds, and give different color schemes for those wanting to design their characters. Dice come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, with some made from fossilized coral and zircon glass. Colorful boxed sets of minifigures, or minis as they are commonly referred to, range the shelves, and gaming tables are set up for those wanting to play. Tunney has also made a tabletop from shop scraps for a War Hammer 40k setup.

Several Warhammer 40k minis were displayed on the counter, each with different color schemes painted on. Tunney expects a shipment of Magic the Gathering cards tomorrow, and has plans to add Pokemon cards in the future. He also has plans for family game nights with classics like Monopoly.
Tunney shared his inspiration for opening the gaming store. “I grew up around one in Michigan and spent a good bit of time in there. My brother-in-law in Florida also runs one. The communities that form are always very welcoming and friendly and just over all good people to be around.”
In a town with few venues aimed at a younger crowd, Tunney believes that the store offers a good opportunity for youth to express their creativity while forming healthy communities like the one he enjoyed growing up. Previously, many gamers have had to drive to Warner Robins and Albany in order to find others to play with. On opening night, the store had around three dozen Magic the Gathering players, and Friday nights have continued to have decent turnout.
Tunney’s own personal favorite game is the Warhammer table top game, though recently he has become more interested in Magic the Gathering. As for miniatures, he can’t really pick a favorite from among the wide range of unique designs.

In addition to games, they have gaming guides, and paints for minis available. They also have a set of Agatha Christie inspired murder-mystery cards. Tunney chose them after seeing the popularity of Murder on the Orient Express, which was recently performed at The Rylander.

Store hours are Wednesday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
