All former students, faculty and staff of Smithville Academy in Lee County are invited to participate in a schoolwide reunion in Plains on Saturday, May 17. The event will take place at the Plains Community Center in Plains beginning at 3 p.m. The reunion is the first and only reunion since the school’s initial reunion nine years ago.

This year, 2025, marks the 50th year since the academy’s last class graduated in 1975. A total of 90 people earned diplomas during the private school’s five years in operation from 1970 to 1975.

Food, fellowship and fun are in store. All “Rams” school memorabilia is welcomed. Responses and reservations should be mailed to Cathy Cook Williams at P.O. Box 284, Plains, GA 31780.
