AmeriPro Health, an industry leader in emergency services, patient logistics, and technology-driven healthcare service, announced today it has been awarded a contract to provide emergency ambulance services in Sumter County, Georgia. The Sumter County Board of Commissioners approved the contract, which follows AmeriPro’s takeover of EMS services in neighboring Clay, Quitman, and Randolph Counties.
AmeriPro will provide three advanced life support (ALS) ambulance trucks 24 hours a day, along with a quick response vehicle (QRV) staffed by supervisors during peak hours. In addition, AmeriPro will provide a full suite of advanced technology and equipment, including state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring, one LUCAS device capable of delivering automated chest compressions during a cardiac arrest, 12-lead ECGS, and other high-tech patient care tools.
AmeriPro is expected to hire 18 paramedics and EMTs under the new contract, along with three senior-level positions.
“We’ve worked hard to innovate and raise the bar for high-quality emergency care in Southwest Georgia, and this new contract with Sumter County is a direct result of a strong track record and meaningful relationships we cultivated in neighboring counties,” said Larry Richardson, CEO of AmeriPro Health. “Our technology-enabled logistics solutions continue to be a key differentiator for AmeriPro, and we look forward to investing in the community as we launch this collaborative new partnership.”
More than 29,000 residents live in Sumter County, which is home to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus. The previous EMS provider was Gold Star EMS.
“Bringing AmeriPro Health to Sumter County marks an exciting step forward for our community,” said David Baldwin, Commissioner of Sumter County. “Their commitment to high-quality patient care made this an easy decision for our board. We look forward to a strong partnership that benefits all our residents.”
In addition to providing quality jobs for the local economy, AmeriPro plans to invest in the community through career training programs, health fairs, and other initiatives, following the company’s blueprint in other markets.
AmeriPro has a presence in 10 counties across Georgia, totaling 345 employees. The company has bolstered its national footprint in recent months, including acquiring Nebraska-based Priority Transport and expanding into new markets across Indiana and Kentucky.
Established in 2018 in the Metro Atlanta area as a tech-enabled emergency service provider, AmeriPro Health has rapidly grown to more than 1,500 employees in nine states, with projected growth in 2025.
