South Georgia Technical College spring graduation set for Thursday May 8

- Barbara Chestnut, a 2025 Honor Graduate from the SGTC Criminal Justice Program and the college’s 2025 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) will be the guest speaker at the SGTC Spring 2025 graduation.

South Georgia Technical College will be conducting its spring graduation exercise on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the James S. Peters Gymnasium on the Americus campus, announced President Dr. John Watford.
Nearly 200 graduates are expected to march across the stage to receive awards of either an Associate Degree of Applied Science or a diploma during the spring graduation ceremony. There are 16 Presidential Honor graduates with a 3.90 or 4.0 graduate point average (GPA) and 29 Honor Graduates with a GPA of 3.70 to 3.89.
Barbara Ann Chestnut of Mauk, South Georgia Tech’s 2025 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) winner, will be the keynote speaker for the evening. She is also an Honor Graduate from the SGTC Criminal Justice Technology program.
South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford and SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain will preside over the ceremony.
