American Legion Post 558 sponsors a Veterans Day program at 10 a.m. Wednesday outside the Sumter County Courthouse, followed by a parade through downtown Americus. To these two local veterans — Jim Filby and Dan Rhyne — along with all the rest of our local veterans: We say thank you for your service! Everyone is invited to display their American flags and to come out and enjoy the parade honoring our veterans. The parade has more than 40 units signed up.
