AMERICUS — Margaret Price Smith, 69, of 859 McMath Mill Road passed away early Sunday morning, Feb. 20, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. The Rev. Hugh Harbort and the Rev. William Hall will officiate the services. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends in the chapel one hour prior to the funeral.
Margaret was born in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia, to the late James Alonza Price and Nita Mae Williams Price. She was a retired customer service representative for the Tog Shop and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She truly loved her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Jay Smith of Americus; her son, Scott Barry and his wife Christy and their daughter Livvy Barry of Americus; a daughter, Laura B. Pittman and her husband Gil of Leslie, Ga., and their daughter Kylie Pittman of Newton, Ga., and their son Jake Pittman and his wife Libby Pittman of Ellerslie, Ga.
She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Cheri Smith Paradise and her husband Dewey and their daughter Catie of Plains, Ga., and Tami Smith Colter and her husband Scott of Ellaville, Ga., and their daughter Lauren and their sons Jesse and Dylan Colter of Statesboro, Ga.; and a sister, Helen Price Coleman of Dublin, Ga.
