Locals receive Piedmont academic honors

DEMOREST — Piedmont College in Demorest has announced academic honors for the recently completed fall semester.
Among them are two locals: Benjamin Thornburgh and Caroline Lyman-Barner, both of Americus, were named Dean’s Scholars after completing the semester with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.
Piedmont College is an independent liberal arts college of more than 2,260 students, with campuses located in Demorest and Athens. Founded in 1897, the college offers undergraduate degrees in more than 50 major areas, master’s degrees in education and business, and doctoral degrees in education.
