Local bar association announces Judge Candidate Forum

AMERICUS — The Southwestern Circuit Bar Association has announced that it will be holding three forums to allow the public to meet the three candidates for Superior Court Judge running to replace Judge George Peagler, who will be retiring with this election. The forums will be held in the courtrooms of three of the courthouses in the Southwestern Judicial Circuit. They will be designed to allow the public to hear from the candidates, as well as to submit questions to a moderator be asked of all the candidates.
The first forum will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 7 in Courtroom A of the Sumter County Courthouse in Americus. The second forum is scheduled for 4 p.m. the following Thursday, April 14 in the courtroom of the Macon County Courthouse in Oglethorpe. The final forum is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, April 21 in the courtroom of the Lee County Courthouse in Lees burg. Each forum should last approximately one hour, though the candidates will likely be available for questions following the programs.
The three candidates scheduled to appear at the forums are Jimmie Brown, Kevin Kwashnak, and Lewis Lamb. The public is encouraged to attend.
