RICHLAND — On Sunday, April 24, there will be a unique opportunity to meet some 30 local food and beverage artisans and taste samples of their gourmet expressions, all crafted in South Georgia. Products on display can be sipped, sampled and purchased.
The Taste of Richland and Market breaks with conventional “tastings,” and is one of a kind. The public can purchase all of the products displayed, including alcoholic craft beverages. The setting will be unique. Exhibitors will have spacious, personalized stations in the Historic Richland Inn (now an event center) and in the two barrel houses and an open-air courtyard at the Richland Rum distillery. The inviting venues allow visitors to stroll from vendor to vendor in the ambiance of the historic inn and the atmosphere offered by the Richland Rum barrel houses.
“Richland Rum is honored to be hosting this unique event,” Karin Vonk of Richland Rum said. “The Taste of Richland and Market is a wonderful platform for craft producers from South Georgia to promote and market their artisan products, such as grass fed meat, ice cream, craft beer, breads and cookies, jellies, organic produce, fair trade coffee, wine, single estate rum and much more.”
“The City of Richland’s spring event is unique in the sense that it is a combination of a typical food and wine festival with a farmers market, where guests can sample and buy the products they enjoy,” she continued.
Among the exhibitors will be a number of local restaurants holding cooking demonstrations and offering fine southern menu items.
Hours for the Taste of Richland and Market are from 2-5 p.m. April 24.
Just a few of the participants are 11th & Bay Southern Table, High Road Craft Ice Cream, 13th Colony Distilleries, Cafe Campesino, Still Pond Winery, Sweet Georgia Baking Co., Center Stage Organic Market, Five Point Berries wines, Georgia Olive Farms, Omaha Brewing Co., The Square Restaurant Moultrie, Cake Art by Jen, The Juice Box and Richland Rum.
Tickets are available at www.tasteofrichland.org for $25. Tickets will also be sold at the door the day of the event for $30. Proceeds benefit Richland Main Street, a 501(c)3 dedicated to economic development for the City of Richland.
