On Nov. 28, the seventh-grade math students at Sumter County Middle School engaged in a competition. Team Titans, Warriors, and Cavaliers competed using previously taught math standards. Johnny Genwright’s first-and third periods and Kristina Aldridge’s second and fifth periods won first place. Ozella Mackey’s second and third periods, Genwright’s fifth period, and Aldridge’s first period won second place. The students and teachers were very excited to see the mastery of the state standards during the competition. Also, the competition gave an overview of the students’ area of weakness for re-teaching purposes.
