2 promoted in Montezuma Police Department

MONTEZUMA — The Montezuma Police Department announces the following promotions.
Lt. Cedric Duncan has been promoted to Captain of Patrol. Under his command will be the Uniform Patrol Division, Certification, and Internal Affairs. Duncan has Executive Level Certifications through POST and is a Lead Assessor and Advisor on Certification. He has a two-year degree from West Georgia University in accounting, and is currently attending Reinhardt University majoring in criminal justice. He has been employed with the Montezuma Police Department over 20 years.
Officer Rodney Flynt has been promoted to Captain of Investigation. Under Flynt’s command will be Investigations, Support Services, Special Response Team. and Training. Flynt is a graduate of the Professional Management Program and is currently attending Command College. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Thomas University. He has over 13 years of service with the Montezuma Police Department. He has also completed Drug and Investigations Commander School.
Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch stated, “Captain Duncan and Captain Flynt will do an excellent job. They both are educated and have the experience to serve the citizens of Montezuma and Macon County.”
Under Finch’s command, nine officers have gone on to become police chiefs, two sheriffs, and one Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent.
