Special announcement from City of Ellaville
Schley County Schley County Manager Bill Sawyer said the City of Ellaville and Schley County have come together to repair all railroad track crossings in the city and county.
They are in need of repair, and asphalt will be used decrease bumpy crossings.
Schley County announces that repairs of the courthouse clock have begun. The Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society will pay for the clock repairs. All four sides will be correct and the community will be able to hear the clock as it strikes on the hour
Schley County GED classes announced
Schley County Adult Education classes are offered in Ellaville on a regular basis.
South Georgia Technical College offers the classes from 8:00 a.m.-noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesdays at the Ellaville City Center next door to the City Hall.

City of Ellaville has new banners flying
The City of Ellaville have just received new banners that have been placed around the City Park and around the downtown square.
They are red, white and blue with an American flag placed in the center. “Let Freedom Ring,” “City of Ellaville” and “Welcome to Ellaville” are also on the banners. They were put up on July 28. The city received the banners from the Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society.
Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society to have membership meeting
The Ellaville-Schley County Historical Society has a membership meeting at 7:00 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Thomas Edwin Wall Post 191 American Legion. All members are encouraged to attend. As a member, please be prepared to make suggestions for projects.
