(July 13-26)
• Firefighters responded to 78 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Lee and Lester streets.
• Firefighters responded to Judy Lane to a report of power line down. They found a tree limb from an adjacent yard had fallen across the wires and pulled the meter pole from the exterior meter base, igniting a small are of pine straw in the flower bed.
• Firefighters responded to East Lamar Street to a report of a vehicle fire. There was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to a smoke detector detail on Judy Lane.
• Firefighters responded to a smoke alarm on North Lee Street. The alarm was activated by a leaky roof.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St. which was activated by smoke from cooking.
• Firefighters responded to the Horton Drive and Linnie Street area to power lines down. They found Mediacom lines hanging low across the roadway and removed them.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at South Lee and Burke streets.
• Firefighters responded to Rucker Street and U.S. Highway 19 North to set up a landing zone an air evac helicopter.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Park Row Extension. The alarm had been activated by cooking.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Southerfield Road and Crisp Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on Felder Street. They found the occupants outside the structure and an outside light fixture on fire. It overheated and fell to the floor.
• Firefighters responded to East Church Street to a report of a short circuit in wiring. The resident had a light switch that would not turn off. There were no fire hazards and the resident was advised to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle accident on West Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to Post Way to check for carbon monoxide. After checking the residence, the owner was advised to contact the City Gas Department.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Lamar and Jackson streets.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a stove fire on Belinda Circle. They found a pot left on the stove.
• Firefighters responded to a structure fire at an apartment on GSW State University Drive. It is under investigation.
• Firefighters responded to Bozeman Circle to a request for medical attention. No patient was found.
• Firefighters responded to North Lee Street to a report of a gas leak. Upon investigation, they found gas in the structure and turned the scene over to the City Gas Department.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a wire down on West Church Street. A cable line and a telephone line were down blocking the owner’s driveway. The lines were removed from the driveway.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Forsyth and Tripp streets.
• Firefighters responded to Recreation Unlimited, 111 Mathews Drive, to a report of a structure fire. Smoke was showing on arrival but no fire. The building has been evacuated. A small fire on a boat mold inside the paint booth are was found. The fire was extinguished and fire personnel checked for extension and ventilated. The sprinkler had been activated and a large air line for paint equipment had been ruptured. They had the air compressor shut down, as well as the sprinkler system.
• Firefighters responded to a East Lamar Street near Station 1 after hearing “a loud commotion.” They observed a semi-truck loaded with lumber at the red light at East Lamar and Prince streets with “a significant amount” of lumber on the ground. They removed the lumber from the roadway and helped to reload the truck. Americus Police deemed the loan insecure and requested a tow truck to remove the semi from the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to King’s Deli, 101 W. Jefferson St. to a report of a smoke odor. No fire was found but they observed a vent caked with grease leading to the roof.
• Firefighters responded to Rucker Street to a report of a line across a vehicle. They found a phone line underneath a car and removed the line and car from the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to a report of a wild land fire. They found a smoldering pile of clothing lying next to the roadway which they extinguished.

• Firefighters responded to 10 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Crisp Drive. It was a malfunctioning alarm.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Upper River Road.
• Firefighters responded to East Ellaville Street in Andersonville to a report of a utility line hanging over the roadway.
• Firefighters assisted EMS on Little Bear Branch Road.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on LaCrosse Road in Schley County. The mobile home fire had started in the kitchen.
• Firefighters responded to Sam Hill Dog Leg and R.W. Jones roads to a report of a tree falling on a house. They found a tree limb blocking to door.
