Local skilled nursing center receives recognition

PLAINS — Lillian Carter Health & Rehabilitation (Lillian Carter) has been awarded the prestigious Achievement to Quality Award. The 2017 Silver award is the second distinction through the American Health Care Association (AHCA) National Quality Award program. This program honors skilled nursing and post-acute cares centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Skilled nursing centers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level, next Silver and then Gold.
Lillian Carter was awarded the Bronze for their development of an organizational profile with fundamental performance elements such a vision, mission statement and an assessment of customers’ expectations.
To be awarded the Silver award a skilled nursing center must continue to learn and develop effective approaches that help improve performance and healthcare outcomes. Trained examiners revieweach Silver application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. Lillian Carter
has not only successfully applied the criteria of the National Quality Award program, but have demonstrated
a true commitment for improving lives through quality care.
