• Firefighters responded to 31 calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Angus Drive and Rees Street.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to a report of a gas smell. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Horseshoe Circle. It was a false alarm.
• Firefighters responded to Felder and Furlow streets to a vehicle fire. When they arrived, the car was fully involved in flames, which they extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Smith Street. The occupant told them she had spilled some oil in the oven and it smoked up the structure.
• Firefighters responded to traffic accident on East Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Southerfield Road. Sumter County Fire & Rescue arrived first and did not require assistance as alarm was malfunctioning,
• Firefighters responded to Montgomery Street to a report of a structure fire. The fire was located in the kitchen are and was extinguished.
• Firefighters responded to Armory Drive to a burn complaint. They found someone on Kings Way using a smoker.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at Lake Blackshear Regional Library at 307 E. Lamar St. The alarm had been pulled by a child; there was no fire.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Lee Street Road. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and U.S. Highway 280 West to a report of a car fire. No incident was found.
• Firefighters responded to Hosanna Circle to a report of smoke in the area. They found someone burning leaves in the yard and they were advised of the city’s no-burn policy.
• Firefighters responded to East Forsyth Street to a report of a structure fire. A pot had been left on the stove and smoked up the structure.
• Firefighters responded to a smoke detector on Barbara Battle Way. They found three detectors chirping because of low batteries.
• Firefighters responded to Ginger Drive to a report of a structure fire. Sumter County Fire & Rescue had already made entry and were extinguishing the fire. AFES personnel entered and checked for fire extension.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Wanda Way. It was an accidental activation.
• Firefighters responded to Knollwood Drive to a report of a possible structure fire. The fire was out on arrival. They helped with ventilation.
