Americus Police, GBI seek information on weekend shooting that left one dead

AMERICUS — Authorities are seeking information on a Saturday incident that killed one man and seriously injured another.
At about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, police were called to a shooting incident in the 200 block of Waitsman Drive. Officers found two subjects who had been shot, lying in the street. Both were transported by EMS to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center where Lynwood Kleckley, 36, was pronounced dead, and Winfred Floyd, 26, was life-flighted to the trauma center in Macon where he is listed in stable condition.
The shooting is being investigated jointly by the Americus Police Department and
the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 3 Americus Office. A person of interest, Tahj Malik Ruff, 20, has been developed through the investigation. Ruff was located at about 10:20 a.m. Monday at a residence on Westside Drive and brought in for questioning.
