• Firefighters responded to nine calls for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Millard Fuller Boulevard. Investigation showed the detector activated due to poor maintenance.
• Firefighters responded to a possible structure fire on Douglas Circle. Upon their arrival, the fire was out. They found there had been a fire on the stove, which had been extinguished, but it had also involved the cabinets and vent hood.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Forsyth Street. It was discovered that the alarm has been set off by floor waxers.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Lee Street. It was a false alarm.
• Firefighters responded to a large tree across the roadway on Pecan Drive, which they removed.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at South Lee and College streets.

• William I. Fine, 32, of 110 Jade Road, Americus is charged with parole violation, and was jailed.
• Otis Lewis, 57, of 110 Holly Drive, Americus is charged with parole violation, and was jailed.

• Marieliz Benitez, 17, of 120 Town Hall Circle is charged with engaging in, promoting, encouraging, aiding or abetting a fight.
• Corsica S. Clark, 22, of 711 Sunset Drive, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.
• Alexsandra Hernandez, 17, of 107 Wildwood Circle, Americus is charged with failure to yield at stop sign after stopping and driving while unlicensed.
• A juvenile was charged with engaging in, promoting, encouraging, aiding or abetting a fight at Brookdale Park on Park Row Extension.
• A juvenile was charged with simple battery on Ridge Street.
• Lawrence D. Moore, 28, of 916 U.S. Highway 19 South, Americus is charged with operating motor vehicle while registration is suspended, canceled or revoked and no proof of insurance.
• Justin J. Velez, 22, of Providence, La., is charged with theft by shoplifting.
• Eddie M. Walker, 36, of 710 Sunny Dale Circle, Americus is charged with removing or affixing license plate for purpose of concealing identity of vehicle; driving while license is suspended or revoked; operating motor vehicle while registration is suspended, canceled or revoked and giving false identity information to law enforcement, and was jailed.

Ellaville Police Department

Arrest
• Rosa L. Tondee, 25, of 1705 Poplar Ridge Road, Ellaville is charged with speeding and probation violation, and was jailed.

Georgia State Patrol Post 10, Americus

Arrest
• Johnny B. Porter, 43, of 110 Foster St., DeSoto is charged with hit and run, DUI, failure to maintain lane and driving while unlicensed, and was jailed.

Sumter County Fire & Rescue

• Firefighters responded to one call for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Pecan Terrace. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Irene Drive to what turned out to be a controlled burn.

• Shane D. Eggers, 36, of Andersonville is charged with violation of child support order. His fine was paid and he was released.
• Tony A. Fuller, 44, of 109 Foster St., DeSoto is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.
• Antonio L. Golphin, 20, of 247 Ga. Highway 49 South, Americus is charged with violation of child support order, and was jailed.
• Jashun Howard, 18, of East Point is charged with two counts of obstruction of law enforcement officer, and was released back to Sumter County Youth Development Campus.
• Mayda Jam, 70, of 484 Commerce Road, Leslie is charged with manufacture of marijuana, and was jailed.
