AMERICUS — A Republican primary candidate forum for Georgia State House District 138 will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 17 in the Nursing Amphitheater at the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Services Complex on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University.
The candidates participating are Mike Cheokas (Republican) and Herschel Smith (Republican).  The candidates will have the opportunity to inform voters about their stands on a range of issues facing the State of Georgia today. The event is open to the general public.
The forum will be moderated by Jason Berggren, Ph.D., associate professor in the history and political science department at GSW.
The general primary election is Tuesday, May 22.
