Georgia’s State School Superintendent, Richard Woods, was in Schley County Tuesday morning, delivering 1,000 books to the school system, as part of the State’s partnership with Better World Books and Woods’ own love of reading. ‘For me it’s personal,’ he said, to the group of elementary and high school students gathered to meet him. ‘My grandfather could not read and had to have someone read everything to him.’ Woods encouraged the group to read to their parents, their siblings, and ‘Let them read to you.’ He said that he reads every day, and encouraged the students to do the same.
