GSW golf team finishes seventh at NSU Shark Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – The GSW golf team took home seventh place in the 16-team NSU Shark Invitational Tournament that was held at the PGA National-Champions Course. The Hurricanes shot a +55 par for a total score of 919.

In the par-71 6,853-yard course, Vincent Norman and Ryan Cahill led the way for the Hurricanes. Both Norman and Cahill finished tied for 22nd place. Norman shot scores of 77, 73 and 78 and Cahill shot scores of 76, 79 and 73. Both shot a +12 par 228.

Cole Madison also had a good tournament for the Hurricanes. Madison shot scores of 79, 78 and 78 and Elias Berkeland shot scores of 80, 82 and 73. Both shot Both shot +19 par 235 and tied for 43rd place. Tyler Barker shot scores of 84, 76 and 77 for a 237 score and tied for 54th place. Will Hernandez, who participated as an individual, finished tied for 88th place with a total score of 250.

St. Leo University won the tournament with a total team score of 886. Florida Tech, the number three-ranked team in the country, finished in second place with a total team score of 892. Keiser University finished one stroke behind FIT with a total team score of 893. Nova Southeastern finished in fifth place with a team score of 904, followed by Palm Beach Atlantic with a score of 911. GSW finished eight strokes behind PBA in seventh place.

The top individual golfer in the tournament was Benjamin Bailey of Keiser University. Bailey finished in first place with a tournament score of 215.

Up next for the Hurricanes is the Copperhead Championship in Palm Harbor, FL, which will be played Monday and Tuesday, October 15-16.
