Michael inland at Category 3

Hurricane Michael was continuing inland at 6 p.m. Wednesday as a Category 3 storm and was located 30 miles west of Bainbridge with 125 mph sustained winds.
Significant wind and ran impact was expected to continue throughout the evening into the night in the Sumter County area.
Some Georgia Power customers in Americus lost power around 6:15 p.m.
The storm will continue to move quickly in a northeasterly direction through Georgia throughout the night.
Hurricane warnings are still in effect in Sumter County which is also under a tornado watch until 2 a.m. Thursday.
The strongest winds are at the center of the storm which should produce gusts of 75 mph plus around midnight in Sumter County.
