Lady Hurricanes basketball set to open 2018-19 season

AMERICUS – The Georgia Southwestern State University women’s basketball team will open the 2018-19 season by traveling to St. Augustine, FL to compete in the Southeast Region Crossover hosted by Flagler University. The tournament will consist of GSW, Limestone College, Lincoln Memorial University and the host team, Flagler.
GSW will play Limestone on Friday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m. That game will take place right after Flagler plays Lincoln Memorial in the first game at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, November 10, the Lady Hurricanes will play Lincoln Memorial at 2 p.m. The Flagler/Limestone game will follow at 4 p.m.
GSW is looking to improve upon last year’s overall record of 8-18. During the 2017-18 season, the Lady Hurricanes averaged 64.4 points, 40.9 rebounds and 13 assists per game. GSW was picked to finish in 10th place in the Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches’ poll, which was released last week.
