The Grateful Threads Quilt Guild, a local knitting group, recently donated quilts to the Phoebe Sumter Hematology & Oncology Clinic. In addition to the quilts, they also donated $125 to the Phoebe Sumter Foundation. The Rev. Dr. Jerry Roe, a local pastor, blessed the quilts before they were delivered to the clinic. The quilts and monetary donation will go to local cancer patients. Shown front row, from left, are Grateful Threads Quilt Guild members Nancy Gerlach, Kay Hodge, Sarah Harrod, Betty Lee Scott, and Cheryl Fletcher; and back row, from left, Roe, Grateful Threads Quilt Guild member Valerie Duff, and Kelly Sheppard, Lila Centerfitt, Rebecca Dodson, all of Phoebe Sumter’s Hematology & Oncology Clinic.
