• Firefighters responded to 15 call for medical assistance.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Old Andersonville Road and South Georgia Tech Parkway.
• Firefighters responded to Ginger Drive to a report of a possible structure fire. Sumter County Fire & Rescue arrived first and took command and AFES was cancelled.
• Firefighters responded to McGarrah Street to a report of wires in the roadway. They removed a phone line from the road.
• Firefighters responded to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hawkins Street to a report of a vehicle fire. Driver told them speaker wires had shorted out and started arcing. Driver disconnected the car battery. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Douglas Drive to a report of an odor in a residence. They found an odor and a light haze throughout. They determined it was a faulty air conditioning unit and cut the power to it. They ventilated the structure and advised occupant to contact an HVAC company.
• Firefighters responded to Lewis Lowe Court to a report of smoke outside a residence. Sumter County Fire & Rescue was already on scene. Firefighters found an AC thermostat that had shorted out.
• Firefighters responded to Barbara Battle Way to a report of a structure fire. The found a pot on the stove on fire.
• Firefighters responded to Church Street to a report of a tree down. They used a chain saw to remove it from the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to Harvey’s, 1208 Crawford St. to a report of wires down. The they found a tractor trailer truck with cable wires on it and a wire on the ground and moved the wires from the parking lot.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on South Georgia Tech Parkway.
