Kudos for Bell series

Please allow me this opportunity to compliment you on the outstanding series of articles regarding the tragic murder of Leigh Bell. Having served in public office for almost 40 years, I know what is balanced, fair, and accurate. I found your series of stories to be very truthful.

I have never known a sadder story than this in the history of Americus. My family have been close to the Bell and Morgan families for generations. It was my obligation and privilege to serve as an usher at the First Baptist Church during Leigh’s funeral. The late Dr. Roy De Brand gave wonderful words of comfort to the family and community.

My heart continues to be broken for all of you (the Bell family).
