The Somewhere in time photo in Wednesday’s edition was different from one of the Windsor Hotel previously published. Len Hicks, formerly of Americus, correctly identified the perspective. The photo was taken from the east at the current location of Fulghum’s Pawn Shop. In today’s photo, Americus Police Chief Mark Scott, at left, along with Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert McCullers and FBI Special Agent Gabe Coulter talk with a student from the summer GREAT (Gang Education and Resistance) program sponsored by the Americus Police Department. A special program was brought to the GREAT participants by the U.S. Attorney’s Office partnering with the FBI and the Americus Police Department geared toward local students called ‘Successful Tips for Youth on Law Enforcement Encounters’ (STYLE).
