Emerson Brinson crowded Baby Miss Schley-Sumter Forestry Queen

Emerson Brinson is the reigning Baby Miss Schley-Sumter Forestry Queen. She recently competed in the State Forestry Pageant, winning the Miss Turpentine Title.

Emerson competed against nine other girls in her division. She was 10 months old when she won this title. She will be competing in the National Forestry Pageant on Labor Day Weekend in Tifton.

Emerson is the daughter of Casey and Kaylee Brinson of Ellaville, and granddaughter of Littlejohn and Kathy Bruer, and Freddie and Denise Brinson, all of Ellaville. Great-grandparents are Larry and Anne Dillard of Ellaville and Ann Brinson of Americus.

Schley County CHEART holds quarterly meeting

The Schley County CHEART held their quarterly meeting on July 17 at the Schley County Courthouse.
CHEART stands for County Health Emergency Assistance and Resource Team.

Kristy Smith, Schley County nurse manager, called the meeting to order. The local health department in our county holds a CHEART meeting quarterly to discuss with the community about emergency plans in conjunction with GEMA support functions.
