ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves have acquired 17-year-old left-hander Ricardo Sanchez from the Los Angeles Angels for third baseman Kyle Kubitza and right-hander Nate Hyatt.
Sanchez, from Venezuela, was recently ranked by Baseball America as the Angels’ No. 2 prospect entering the 2015 season. Sanchez compiled a 2-2 record and 3.49 ERA for the Arizona League Angels in his first professional season.
The 24-year-old Kubitza hit .295 with eight homers and 21 stolen bases for Double-A Mississippi in 2014. He was a third-round pick by the Braves out of Texas State in 2011.
The 24-year-old Hyatt was 5-3 with a 2.71 for Advanced-A Lynchburg. He was a 13th-round pick out of Appalachian State in 2012.
The Angels added Kubitza to their 40-man roster and infielder Marc Krauss was designated for assignment.
