Coroner Clifford Walton spoke on March 8 about his run for reelection as Coroner. Walton expressed his appreciation for the citizens of Sumter County. He also expressed appreciation for those serving in other government positions, including law enforcement, first responders, and City officials.
“I want to let them know from the Coroner’s office, how much we appreciate their services, to us and the citizens of Sumter County. To let you all know how much we appreciate you for the services, to allow us to render them to you, and the services that have been given back to us. Law enforcement, Sherrif Bryant, Chief Scott, Chief Harmon with the fire department, the EMS, everybody. . .”
He also thanked the voters that placed him in a position to serve. “I just want to thank the ones that voted me in, three years and two months and seven days ago. I’m looking forward to still be of service in the County as the Coroner for the next four years. Thank you for your time, patience, and giving us an opportunity to serve Sumter County collectively as a whole.”
He ended with his wishes for the citizens he serves. “Have a blessed year. We hope to see you in the future, on better terms than what we’ve been seeing you, but still, we have to do what we have to do, and I pray that our service has been to your expectations from the coroner’s office. Thank you.”
