Brenda Wells Summers passed away Monday, August 12, 2024, surrounded by family at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home at the age of 81, after an extended illness. She was born in Tifton, Georgia on January 2, 1943. Brenda was the daughter of the late Willis Daniel Wells and Mary Frances Sikes Wells. She graduated from Tifton High School in June of 1961. Shortly after graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Wallace M. Summers, on June 25, 1961. They were married 63 years. They resided in Tifton, Adel, and Valdosta before moving to Americus, Georgia which they called home for over 55 years. She was a wonderful mother to her three children and enjoyed spending her days at home with them. Brenda was an avid sports fan, who first and foremost, loved to watch her kids at any and all sporting events. Brenda and Wally enjoyed watching South Georgia Technical College basketball games.  Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus and a member of Charlie Gibbs’s Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord and had a strong faith throughout her life. She could be found in the kitchen making the world’s best chocolate chip cookies with her grandchildren close by waiting for a bite of the cookie dough. Brenda loved to decorate, buy cards, and buy candy for any and all holidays. She always greeted her children and grandchildren with a smile, a kiss on the cheek, and a “hey baby”. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was loved deeply and will be missed greatly.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Wally Summers. She is also survived by her three children Sherri Divers (Larry), Chet Summers (Dana), and Stephen Summers (Weatherly); her eight grandchildren, Terrell Webb (Ashlee), Will Divers (Bailey), Taylor Childs (Austin), Blake Summers (Mallory), Brent Summers (Baylee), Virginia Frances Richburg (Logan), Wells Summers (Sarah), and Thomas Summers; and her nine great-grandchildren Cooper Webb, Bentley Webb, Wally Divers, James Childs, Bennett Childs, Emersyn Summers, Grayson Summers, Quinton Summers, and Lucy Summers.
