This Wednesday, February 26, when the Georgia Southwestern State University men’s basketball team scores its first basket of the evening in its game against Clayton State University at 7:30 p.m., fans are encouraged to throw a teddy bear or plush toy onto the court. Those new or gently used items will be collected and donated to the Women’s & Children’s Health Services department of Phoebe Putney Health System.

Fans unable to bring a teddy bear to donate will still have an opportunity to throw a plush toy onto the court thanks to the generosity of event partners Amerigreen Environmental Recycling, Coca-Cola, State Farm, Saint John’s Anglican Church of Americus and Chick-Fil-A of Americus.

More than 2,000 plush toys are expected to be dontated.
